This weathered, artificial rose was standing tall and alone in the sand at Wrightsville Beach. Whether left there by children playing, or placed as a memorial to a lost love, no one really knows. But what would normally be unsightly, took on a strange beauty on the deserted, winter beach.

This picture was chosen for Ruby Tuesday.
