This photo was taken at Wrightsville Beach, NC, a town just east of Wilmington. The town consists of a four-mile-long beach island, an interior island called Harbor Island, and pockets of commercial property on the mainland. The island itself has been called “a breathtaking stretch of paradise” and has a village-like atmosphere that is perfect for an esscpae from every day cares.

This photo was chosen for Sundays in My City, a photo meme that has folks posting pictures on Sunday of their cities. I thought Wilmington NC should be included.
