Carolina Beach Boardwalk

Carolina Beach NC, with it’s small beach town feel, has been described as a trip back in time. A popular destination for boaters and fishermen since the 1880’2, it was accessible only by steamer or railroad until a steel swing bridge was constructed by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1931. It has since been replaced by a high rise concrete bridge, Snow’s Cut Bridge.

This photo shows the recently refurbished baordwalk, which  provides beach access, seating areas and wonderful views of the Atlantic Ocean.
