This scenic shot was taken at  Johnny Mercer’s Fishing Pier in Wrightsville Beach, NC.  It was rebuilt in concrete, after the old wooden one was destroyed by Hurricane Fran in 1996.

You can find shells here year-round, but in early spring after a storm or during hurricane season are particularly good times for shelling. One hour before and one hour after low tide are prime shelling time.

This photo is for Scenic Sunday.

  1. Beautiful photo and scenic, indeed! I’ve never lived near the ocean, but I’d like to go shelling.

    Happy Scenic Sunday!

  2. Incredible photo, this is outstanding.
